Job Description

The Assistant Professor of Microbiology would be expected to provide quality education to undergraduate and postgraduate students of medicine in the subject of Microbiology. This entails taking theory and practical classes, supervising research projects, and taking part in academic development. It also includes supervision of laboratories, curriculum development, and active contribution to the institutional activities. They should possess an MD or DNB in Microbiology and one year of experience as a Senior Resident in a Medical College recognized by the National Medical Commission post-PG. Permanent registration with Kerala State Medical Council (TCMC) or the Council for Modern Medicine is required. Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS & SSR can be applied. Equivalent qualifications as accepted by government orders are also acceptable. Appointees have to perform four years of compulsory duty in Defence or Defence-related fields within 10 years of service, with possibilities for exemption for persons with disabilities or those over 45 years of age. This job calls for academic dedication, research orientation, and professional integrity according to UGC norms and institutional guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess MD/DNB in Microbiology, one year of experience as Senior Resident in a National Medical Commission recognized Medical College after post-graduation, and hold permanent registration under Kerala State Medical Council (TCMC) or Council for Modern Medicine. Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS & SSR is applicable. Qualifications declared equivalent by government orders will also be accepted. Appointees must complete 4 years of mandatory service in Defence or related fields within the first 10 years of service, unless exempted due to disability or being above 45 years of age.
