Assistant Professor in Neurosurgery

Job Description

The Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery shall be tasked with teaching and mentoring the postgraduate and undergraduate students of Neurosurgery, carrying out clinical research, and taking charge of departmental academic activities. The job entails involvement in high-level neurosurgical procedures, publishing scientific literature, constructing curriculum content, and supporting administrative work. They should have an M.Ch or DNB in Neurosurgery and also permanent registration in the Kerala State Medical Council (TCMC) or Council for Modern Medicine. Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS & SSR will apply. Equivalent qualifications accepted by executive or standing orders of the Government are also acceptable. Appointees shall serve 4 years of obligatory service in Defence or defence-related sectors within the initial 10 years of service unless exempted on grounds of age more than 45 years or physical disability. There is a need for high clinical skills, research ability, and unyielding commitment to ethical medical practice and academic excellence as per UGC guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess M.Ch/DNB in Neurosurgery and hold permanent registration under Kerala State Medical Council (TCMC) or Council for Modern Medicine. Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS & SSR is applicable. Equivalent qualifications recognized by government orders will also be accepted. Appointees must complete 4 years of mandatory service in Defence or related fields within the first 10 years of service unless exempted due to disability or being above 45 years of age.
