Job Description

The Foreman job under Kerala State Water Transport Department is a technical supervisory position where work includes maintenance and repair of marine diesel engines along with other mechanical equipment. The candidate should have a Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering and must be passed in SSLC or equivalent. Priority will be given to candidates with a minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role in an automobile workshop, especially in maintaining marine diesel engines. A practical test will be administered by the Kerala PSC to examine the technical skills of the candidates. Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS&SSR is applicable. The candidate selected will be placed on probation for two years during a period of three years.

Eligibility Criteria

SSLC pass or equivalent and a Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering. Preference to candidates with 5 years of supervisory experience in an automobile workshop, especially related to marine diesel engines. Age limit: 18–41. Usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC. Proficiency will be assessed by a practical test during selection. Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS&SSR is applicable.
