Job Description

Kerala PSC invites applications for Sergeant (Both Direct Recruitment and Recruitment by Transfer) in various departments, district-wise (Palakkad, Idukki, Wayanad, Kasaragod). The pay scale is ₹31,100–66,800. Eligibility for direct recruitment is 18–36 years (max 50 with relaxation); by transfer, there’s no age limit. Core eligibility: ex-servicemen (pensioned JCO or equivalent), or at least 10 years military service with English literacy, or (if still vacant) SSLC/equivalent + 10 years State Police or 6 months military training. Good command of Malayalam, Tamil, or Kannada is a must. Differently abled candidates are not eligible. Physical standards: minimum height 167 cm (SC/ST: 160 cm), chest 81 cm (76 cm for SC/ST) with 5 cm expansion, and required vision and fitness (certified by Civil Surgeon Grade II). Apply online through One Time Registration for your district; transfers between districts allowed only after 5 years’ continuous service as per PSC rules.
